HB 6996 Summary

• Extends the Ezequiel Santiago Foreclosure Mediation Program from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023 by replacing all references to the 2019 deadline with 2023 throughout Connecticut's foreclosure mediation statutes.

• Renames the foreclosure mediation program officially to the "Ezequiel Santiago Foreclosure Mediation Program" effective upon passage of this act.

• Applies to residential real property foreclosures and religious organization-owned property with return dates during specified periods through June 30, 2023.

• Requires the Chief Court Administrator to submit annual summaries of program data to the joint standing committee on banking by March 1 of each year through 2023.
