HB 7070 Summary

• Defines "limited services pregnancy center" as a facility providing pregnancy-related services but not providing referrals for abortions or emergency contraception, effective July 1, 2019

• Prohibits limited services pregnancy centers from making or disseminating false, misleading, or deceptive statements about pregnancy-related services through any advertising medium, including the Internet

• Authorizes the Attorney General to seek injunctive relief and require limited services pregnancy centers to pay for corrective advertising, post remedial notices, or provide other court-ordered remedies

• Requires the Attorney General to provide written notice and allow 10 days for a pregnancy center to cure the violation before commencing legal action

• Imposes civil penalties of $50 to $500 per violation and requires pregnancy centers to pay reasonable attorney's fees and costs upon a court finding of violation
