Repeals and replaces Section 13b-38h of the general statutes, effective July 1, 2019.

Department of Transportation must provide reduced fares on state-owned or state-controlled bus public transportation service for veterans.

Veterans can claim reduced fares by presenting a motor vehicle operator's license or identity card showing veteran status to the fare inspector or bus driver.

Prior to adopting any fare change, the Department must advertise the proposed change in newspapers statewide at least 15 days before holding a public hearing on the proposal.

Department must notify chairpersons and ranking members of joint standing committees on transportation and finance of any proposed fare changes.
