Exempts veterans from paying the $10 "Passport to the Parks Fee" for motor vehicle registration, as defined in section 27-103 of the general statutes.

Veterans must present documentation of their veteran status to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles or an authorized representative to claim the exemption.

Non-veterans continue to pay $10 for biennial registration or $5 for annual registration (if age 65 or older) for passenger vehicles, motorcycles, motor homes, combination vehicles, or antique vehicles.

Collected fees are deposited into the Passport to the Parks account established under section 23-15h and are not subject to refund.

Effective date is October 1, 2019, and the measure received a Joint Favorable committee recommendation.
