Commissioner of Social Services may implement policy to simplify program administration and increase payment accuracy in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, provided notice is published in the eRegulations System prior to adoption.

Department of Social Services shall not require telephone or in-person interviews for benefit renewal more than once annually.

Department cannot terminate benefits for any beneficiary who attempted to contact the Department by telephone for a renewal interview but was not interviewed despite waiting at least 60 minutes for a response from department staff.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2019, and amends Section 17b-105c of the general statutes.
