Repeals and replaces Section 9-409 of the general statutes, effective October 1, 2019, establishing new timelines for petition form availability.

Petition forms for state senator and state representative candidates become available from the registrar beginning 77 days before the primary election, rather than following party endorsement.

Registrar must type or print candidate names, addresses, offices sought, and political party information on petition forms upon receiving candidate consent statements.

Registrars must provide indigent candidates with petition pages at least two times the required number for municipal office or five times the required number for town committee positions.

All information relative to primary petitions is designated as a public record, and duplicated petition pages are subject to the same filing requirements as original pages.
