Prohibits storing or keeping any pistol or revolver in an unattended motor vehicle unless the firearm is in a trunk, locked safe, or locked glove box, effective October 1, 2019.

Defines "unattended" as a vehicle with no owner, operator, or passenger at least 21 years old inside or within close proximity to prevent unauthorized access.

Exempts law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and nuclear facility security personnel from storage requirements if they comply with their respective agency policies.

Allows courts to suspend prosecution for first-time violators if the violation is not serious in nature and the defendant meets certain conditions, with charges dismissed upon successful probation completion not exceeding two years.

Establishes penalties of a class A misdemeanor for a first offense and a class D felony for any subsequent offense.
