Department of Housing shall conduct a study on methods to assist senior citizens in maintaining independent living in their homes, within available appropriations.

Study shall examine application of federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit program to encourage housing development near public transit and livable community settings.

Study shall review whether Housing Trust Fund program has specific regulations providing extra consideration for projects serving senior citizens.

Study shall consider increasing building standards beyond Americans with Disabilities Act requirements to accommodate people with limited physical capabilities in private housing and public-funded single family units.

Commissioner of Housing must submit study results report to the joint standing committee on housing by January 1, 2020.
