Requires each nursing home to install a video camera in a resident's room upon request by the resident or their authorized representative, effective July 1, 2019.

Camera installation limited to recording only the resident's living quarters and must comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.

Resident must sign a waiver of liability relieving the nursing home of responsibility for unauthorized access to recordings by persons not employed by the facility.

Resident or authorized representative must monitor recordings in person or remotely, report safety concerns to nursing home staff, and maintain an unedited copy of all recordings for at least one year for staff or law enforcement investigations.
