HB 7241 Summary

• Replaces all references to "workers' compensation commissioner" and "compensation commissioner" with "administrative law judge" throughout Connecticut statutes, effective October 1, 2019.

• Reduces the advisory board meeting requirement from twice per calendar quarter to once per calendar quarter.

• Establishes a Statistical Division within the Workers' Compensation Commission's Management Information Systems Division to compile and maintain statistics on occupational injuries, diseases, claims, and dockets.

• Eliminates the Second Injury Fund subsection requiring employers to notify the fund custodian within three years of injury or 90 days after 104 weeks of disability payments, along with associated notification procedures and fees.

• Repeals sections 31-276a, 31-298a, and 31-304 of the general statutes.
