Armed forces members stationed in Connecticut pursuant to military orders qualify for in-state student classification at state higher education institutions.

Spouses of armed forces members stationed in Connecticut are entitled to in-state student classification and retain that status while enrolled in associate, bachelor, or advanced degree programs even if the military member is transferred.

Unemancipated children of armed forces members stationed in Connecticut are entitled to in-state student classification and retain that status while continuously attending or enrolled in associate, bachelor, or advanced degree programs even if the parent is transferred on military orders.

The law applies to constituent units of the state system of higher education.

Effective date: October 1, 2019.
