Labor Commissioner shall conduct a study on the use of student interns and student teachers in Connecticut institutions of higher education, effective July 1, 2019.

Study shall examine whether interns and student teachers should receive uniform stipends or hourly wages and whether weekly hour limits should be imposed.

Labor Commissioner must report findings to the joint standing committees on higher education and employment advancement and labor by July 1, 2020.

Referred to Committee on Labor and Public Employees with joint favorable recommendations from both Labor (LAB) and Higher Education (HED) committees.
