Joint standing committee chairpersons on commerce shall appoint and convene a working group to examine and make recommendations on permitting electronic and remote notarization in Connecticut.

Working group membership shall include representatives from the commerce committee, state or regional bar associations, notary associations, title insurance industry, and mortgage industry, with appointments due within 30 days of the bill's effective date.

First working group meeting must occur within 60 days of the bill's effective date, with mandatory monthly meetings thereafter until the report is submitted.

Working group shall submit a report with findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on commerce no later than February 1, 2020, in accordance with section 11-4a of the general statutes.

The working group terminates upon submission of its report or February 1, 2020, whichever occurs later.
