HB 7322 - Ballot Design

• Ballots must use identical type size and style for all political parties and candidates appearing on the same ballot, and must fit tabulator equipment specifications.

• Registrars must file official ballots with the Secretary of the State for approval at least 10 days prior to elections and primaries; no ballot may be used without approval.

• Absentee ballots must be filed with the Secretary of the State for approval before printing, and sample ballots must be available at polling places at least 48 hours before primaries.

• Extends candidate withdrawal and replacement deadlines from 24 hours to 46 days before elections for general elections, and from 10 days to 32 days before primaries.

• Simplifies party listing rules by requiring minor parties and certain petitioning candidates to be listed in alphabetical order rather than by prior sequence of office.
