Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the Department of Consumer Protection, shall study the public health impact of individuals unable to afford prescribed medications or unable to take them as directed due to cost.

Study shall include strategies to improve patient access to prescribed medication and takes effect July 1, 2019.

Commissioners of Public Health and Consumer Protection must report findings to the joint standing committees on public health and consumer protection by January 1, 2020.

Committees reviewed include Public Health (PH), Insurance (INS), and Appropriations (APP), all providing joint favorable recommendations.
