Reduces maximum misdemeanor sentences from one year to 364 days for any offense previously punishable by up to one year imprisonment, effective July 1, 2019.

Applies retroactively to all sentences imposed before, on, or after July 1, 2019.

Allows persons sentenced to one year imprisonment prior to July 1, 2019 to apply to the sentencing court for modification to the reduced 364-day maximum at any time.

Maintains the misdemeanor classification of convictions despite the reduced maximum sentence length.

Courts must grant sentence modification requests regardless of conviction date, provided the sentence record has not been destroyed.
