Repeals and replaces section 2-35a of the general statutes to clarify that the joint standing committee on government administration, organization and reorganization is "responsible for" (rather than "have responsibility") continuing review of state department and agency organization and reorganization.

Repeals and replaces section 4-38j of the general statutes to require the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management and department heads to either submit requested reports on reorganization progress and implementation, or appear before the government administration committee to provide such information as determined by the committee chairpersons.

Changes effective date for both sections to October 1, 2019.

Received a joint favorable recommendation from the Government Administration and Elections Committee.
