HB 5119 Summary

• Requires community antenna television companies and telecommunications companies to provide property owners or landlords with at least 10 days' notice before installing a satellite dish on a rental dwelling unit at a customer's request

• Mandates that companies check their records or contact the owner/landlord to identify any unused satellite dishes previously installed on the property

• Requires removal of at least one unused satellite dish before installing any new satellite dish on the property

• Applies definitions of "landlord," "owner," and "dwelling unit" from Connecticut General Statutes section 47a-1, and applies to entities defined in section 16-1

• Becomes effective October 1, 2020
