All individual health insurance policies in Connecticut must provide coverage for diagnosis and treatment of pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections and pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome, effective January 1, 2021.

Coverage requirements include intravenous immunoglobulin therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy at minimum for the conditions specified.

All individual health insurance policies must cover outpatient prescription drugs approved by the FDA for treatment of these pediatric neuropsychiatric disorders.

All group health insurance policies must provide identical coverage for diagnosis, treatment, and FDA-approved outpatient prescription drugs for these conditions, effective January 1, 2021.

The requirements apply to policies delivered, issued, renewed, amended, or continued in Connecticut on or after the January 1, 2021 effective date.
