Department of Children and Families and Office of the Child Advocate shall administer a youth suicide prevention pilot program for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, using available appropriations.

Pilot program shall provide suicide prevention training to employees of schools, youth service bureaus, youth-serving organizations, youth athletic activity operators, and municipal social service agencies.

Training must be administered to at least twenty employee groups across the state, with priority given to groups serving municipalities where a youth suicide occurred in the previous five-year period.

Departments may contract with nongovernmental entities providing evidence-based suicide prevention training and may accept gifts, grants, and donations from public or private sources to support the program.

School employee training may be included as part of existing in-service training programs under state statute.
