Requires each municipality in Connecticut to include a shaded area in the design and construction of any new municipal playground, effective October 1, 2020.

Shaded area options include existing or newly planted trees, buildings, gazebos, pergolas, or covered benches that provide protection from direct sun exposure.

Applies the definition of "municipal playground" from Connecticut General Statutes section 22a-66m(a).

Becomes effective July 1, 2020, creating a new section in state law.
