• Removes the requirement for paramedic license applicants to complete mental health first aid training from a National Council for Behavioral Health certified instructor, effective upon passage.

• Eliminates the mental health first aid training requirement that was previously mandated for applicants applying on or after January 1, 2020.

• Removes mental health first aid training from licensure by endorsement requirements for paramedics from other states, including New England states, New York, and New Jersey.

• Retains existing requirements that paramedic applicants complete an approved training program and pass the Commissioner of Public Health's prescribed examination.
