State Fire Administrator shall administer a supplemental grant award remittance program for volunteer fire companies providing emergency response services on limited access highways, the Berlin Turnpike (from Wilbur Cross Parkway in Meriden to South Meadows Expressway in Wethersfield), or Route 8 in Beacon Falls within Naugatuck State Forest

Eligible fire companies may receive $100 in direct payment or equivalent credits for each emergency response service rendered

Fire companies may use credits to purchase fee-based services from the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control, and credits must be used within the fiscal year they are received

Supplemental grant awards shall not be remitted for response services on the Berlin Turnpike unless the service involved a motor vehicle fire

Act takes effect July 1, 2020 and amends Connecticut General Statutes Section 7-323r
