Board of Regents for Higher Education and Board of Trustees for University of Connecticut shall establish a program to increase accessibility for students with autism spectrum disorder at state institutions of higher education, effective July 1, 2020.

Students with autism spectrum disorder shall have the right to receive targeted support services, be accompanied by an advocate of their choice in disciplinary meetings or hearings, and receive course scheduling, instruction, and campus housing tailored to their specific needs within available resources.

State institutions of higher education must provide readily accessible information on their websites about services available for students with autism spectrum disorder.

Within available appropriations, institutions must offer programs to assist students with autism spectrum disorder in making a successful transition from high school to higher education.

Board of Regents and Board of Trustees must report to the General Assembly joint standing committees on human services and higher education by January 1, 2021 regarding development of the program and bill of rights.
