Repeals and replaces Section 20-681 of the general statutes, effective July 1, 2020, to revise the definition of "covenant not to compete" in the home health services industry.

Removes the prohibition on geographic area restrictions and time period limits on non-compete agreements, allowing such restrictions to apply to services provided to specific individuals or for specific homemaker-companion agencies.

Permits nonsolicitation agreements that restrict individuals from soliciting clients, employees, or vendors of homemaker-companion agencies, provided the restriction is limited to one year in duration.

Declares all traditional covenants not to compete to be against public policy and void and unenforceable, while carving out a narrow exception for one-year nonsolicitation agreements.
