HB 5329 Summary

• Commissioner of Children and Families shall develop a process for routine collection of information on monitoring, inspection, and health/safety/treatment/discharge outcomes at congregate care facilities, in consultation with the Office of the Child Advocate and facility operators.

• Collected information must be made publicly available on the Department of Children and Families website, provided no personally identifying information of children is disclosed.

• Commissioner must promptly notify the Office of the Child Advocate and parents/guardians when actions are taken or sanctions imposed related to facility licenses for health or safety reasons, and when corrective actions are undertaken by facilities.

• Commissioner must submit a report by December 31, 2019 describing the processes developed and implementation timelines.

• Commissioner must submit a progress report by December 31, 2020 detailing implementation status of the developed processes.
