Insurance Commissioner must study the feasibility and likely effects of requiring Medicare supplement insurers to provide coverage for three specific benefits: skilled nursing facility coinsurance for Medicare Part C enrollees under age 65, foreign travel emergency health care coverage, and hospital deductibles for Medicare Part A enrollees.

Study applies to insurance companies, fraternal benefit societies, hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, health care centers, and other entities that deliver, issue, renew, amend or continue Medicare supplement insurance policies and certificates in Connecticut.

Insurance Commissioner must submit a report of findings to the joint standing committee on insurance by January 1, 2021.

Act takes effect upon passage.
