Department of Education shall cease state-wide implementation of edTPA, the pre-service performance assessment adopted by the State Board of Education on December 7, 2016, effective July 1, 2020.

Each institution of higher education offering a teacher preparation program must develop and administer its own preservice performance assessment for enrolled students, effective July 1, 2020.

Each institution of higher education must submit its preservice performance assessment to the Commissioner of Education for approval.

Commissioner of Education shall review and may approve preservice performance assessments developed by institutions and shall establish passing scores required for successful completion of teacher preparation programs for professional certification purposes.
