Violators of a stop work order issued under section 31-76a shall pay a civil penalty of $1,000 to the Labor Department, effective October 1, 2020.

Each successive day of violation of a stop work order constitutes a separate offense with penalties increasing at the rate of $500 per day, starting on the second day of violation.

Violations of sections 31-12, 31-13, 31-14, subsection (a) of section 31-15, or sections 31-18, 31-23, or 31-24 are subject to civil penalties of $600 per violation.

General violations of labor law chapters and section 31-288 remain subject to civil penalties of $300 per violation.

Violations of subsection (g) of section 31-288 constitute separate offenses for each day of violation.
