Repeals and replaces Section 52-64 of the general statutes to establish procedures for serving civil process on Department of Correction employees sued in their individual capacity by incarcerated persons.

Requires two true and attested copies of process to be left at the central office of the Department of Correction in Wethersfield, with a designated department employee responsible for receiving and maintaining records of service.

Department of Correction employees sued by incarcerated persons in their individual capacity are deemed to have appointed the Department as their attorney, and service on the Department is valid as if served personally.

Department must promptly deliver process to the named employee and confirm receipt of delivery.

Adds the Commissioner of Correction to Section 52-56(c) as an official who may accept service of process, effective October 1, 2020.
