The Commissioner of Education shall establish a working group to examine and make recommendations on consolidating or eliminating unnecessary, obsolete, or redundant professional development requirements under section 10-148a and in-service training requirements under section 10-220a of the general statutes

The working group shall include the Commissioner of Education (or designee), one representative each from seven education associations (Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents, Connecticut Federation of School Administrators, Connecticut Education Association, American Federation of Teachers-Connecticut, Connecticut Association of School Administrators, and Connecticut Association of Schools), and any other persons the commissioner deems appropriate

The Commissioner of Education must submit a report on the working group's findings to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of education matters by January 1, 2021

The report may include recommendations for legislation proposing specific amendments to laws concerning professional development and in-service training
