Department of Public Health shall develop or approve a food allergy poster by December 1, 2020 containing information on common allergens, server actions when customers report allergies, cross-contact prevention, and emergency response procedures.

All class 2, class 3, and class 4 food establishments must display the poster in a clear and conspicuous manner in the kitchen or designated staff area by January 1, 2021.

Certified food protection managers must ensure every employee reads and familiarizes themselves with the poster information.

Failure to display the poster constitutes grounds for an inspection violation under Connecticut General Statutes section 19a-36l.

Effective date is July 1, 2020.
