Summary of Raised Bill No. 144

• Prohibits limited services pregnancy centers from making or disseminating deceptive advertisements about pregnancy-related services, whether through statements or omissions, effective July 1, 2020

• Defines "limited services pregnancy center" as a facility that does not provide or refer for abortions or emergency contraception, including facilities that appear medical by having medical attire, examination tables, medical supplies, or health information collection

• Requires the Attorney General to provide 10 days written notice before filing suit and allows centers to cure violations within that timeframe

• Authorizes courts to order corrective advertising in the same medium as the deceptive ad, remedial notices, or other narrowly-tailored relief to remedy adverse effects on clients

• Establishes civil penalties of $50-$500 per violation plus reasonable attorney's fees and costs upon court findings of violation
