Commissioner of Social Services must conduct a study of the state's long-term care needs to determine whether existing programs and strategies are sufficient.

Study shall include 2019 baseline data on seniors 65+ and residents with disabilities requiring long-term care, plus 2023 projections for these same populations.

Study shall analyze the Money Follows the Person demonstration project from 2015-2019, including the number of residents moved from institutional to community-based settings and resulting state expenditure savings.

Commissioner must report findings to the joint standing committees on aging and human services by July 1, 2021, with optional recommendations for addressing gaps and improving access to long-term care.

Act takes effect upon passage.
