Repeals and replaces Section 38a-723 of the general statutes to revise the definition of "public adjuster" effective October 1, 2020.

Defines public adjusters as persons, partnerships, associations, LLCs, or corporations that prepare, document, submit, negotiate, adjust, or settle first-party property insurance claims for compensation on behalf of insureds.

Excludes lawyers settling claims of clients from the definition of public adjusters.

Authorizes the Insurance Commissioner to adopt regulations establishing continuing education requirements for public adjusters, in accordance with Chapter 54 of the general statutes.

Effective date for both sections is October 1, 2020.
