SB 203 Summary

• Requires all individual health insurance policies providing coverage under Connecticut General Statutes section 38a-469 subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11), and (12) to cover motorized wheelchairs, including used motorized wheelchairs, effective January 1, 2021.

• Requires all group health insurance policies providing the same coverage types to cover motorized wheelchairs, repairs to motorized wheelchairs, and replacement batteries for motorized wheelchairs, effective January 1, 2021.

• Mandates coverage for repairs to motorized wheelchairs and replacement batteries for motorized wheelchairs under both individual and group health insurance policies.

• Applies to policies delivered, issued for delivery, renewed, amended, or continued in Connecticut on or after January 1, 2021.
