Raised Bill No. 233 - An Act Concerning Elections

• Expands election day voter registration by requiring registrars to designate locations and certify to the Secretary of State 31 days before elections, with authority to require additional election officials or design changes.

• Restores voting rights to convicted felons upon release from confinement without requiring payment of fines, effective July 1, 2021.

• Establishes automatic voter registration processes at Department of Motor Vehicles and other state agencies using electronic systems, with identity verification waivers for eligible requirements.

• Creates an online voter registration system through the Secretary of State and requires voter registration agencies and public institutions of higher education to provide electronic registration opportunities.
