Insurance Commissioner must study the feasibility and anticipated impact of prohibiting insurers, health care centers, hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, fraternal benefit societies, and other health insurance entities from paying reduced reimbursement to podiatrists for covered benefits within their scope of practice.

Study must examine whether podiatrists are currently subject to reimbursement discrimination compared to other licensed health care providers offering the same covered services.

Insurance Commissioner shall submit findings report to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly with cognizance over insurance matters by January 1, 2021.

Act takes effect upon passage and creates a new statutory section.
