Amends section 9-167a of Connecticut General Statutes to establish maximum limits on members from a single political party on state and municipal boards, commissions, and legislative bodies.

Sets party membership caps based on total board size: 3-member bodies limited to 2 from one party; 4-member bodies limited to 3; bodies with 5-6 members limited to 4; bodies with 7-8 members limited to 5; bodies with 9 members limited to 6; and bodies with more than 9 members limited to two-thirds of total membership.

Exempts boards and commissions whose members are elected by geographical divisions, municipal town meetings, certain unconsolidated city councils with representative town meetings, and small districts with annual receipts not exceeding $250,000.

Excludes legislative bodies of municipalities from exemptions under the geographical division provision, narrowing exceptions to non-legislative bodies only.

Takes effect immediately upon passage.
