Licensed veterinarians must promptly report to local law enforcement when they have reasonable cause to believe a dog was injured or killed due to participation in animal fighting, as defined in section 53-247 of Connecticut general statutes

Reports must be made to the local law enforcement authority of the municipality where the veterinarian believes the animal fighting exhibition occurred

Veterinarians who make reports under this requirement are protected from civil liability as a result of making such reports

The law takes effect on October 1, 2020
