Raised Bill No. 427 Summary

• Establishes Fire Prevention Code applicable to buildings constructed before January 1, 2006, and Fire Safety Code applicable to buildings constructed on or after January 1, 2006, effective July 1, 2020.

• Renames the advisory committee to the Fire Prevention Code Committee, consisting of nine members appointed by the State Fire Marshal (two from Codes and Standards Committee, seven from Connecticut Fire Marshals Association).
