Commissioner of Administrative Services, State Building Inspector, and Codes and Standards Committee must conduct a study on the feasibility of implementing a six-year State Building Code adoption cycle, including anticipated benefits and challenges.

Study shall examine methods for standardizing and streamlining the State Building Code, including timeframes for the building permit approval process.

Study findings and recommendations must be submitted to the joint standing committee on planning and development by January 1, 2021.

Act takes effect upon passage and creates a new section in Connecticut General Statutes.
