Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall amend regulations by December 31, 2021 to establish a residential vertical platform lift technician's license, in consultation with the Elevator Installation, Repair and Maintenance Board.

Initial license fee is $150 and renewal fee is $75, with licenses valid for one year from date of issuance.

Regulations shall include requirements for experience, training, continuing education, and examinations needed to obtain and renew the residential vertical platform lift technician's license.

Holders of existing occupational licenses that permit installation and repair of residential stair lifts or residential vertical platform lifts are exempt from obtaining the new technician's license.
