Youth Suicide Advisory Board and Office of the Child Advocate shall jointly administer evidence-based QPR Institute Gatekeeper Training in each district department of health, with initial offering by July 1, 2022, and at least once every three years thereafter.

Eligible participants include employees of health departments, youth service bureaus, schools, youth-serving organizations, youth athletic activities, municipal social service agencies, fire departments, and local police departments.

Certified participants may provide QPR Institute Gatekeeper Training to other eligible professionals and members of the public during the validity period of their certification.

School employees may include the training as part of in-service training programs required under state law.

Youth Suicide Advisory Board and Office of the Child Advocate may contract with nongovernmental entities to administer the suicide prevention training program.
