Amend title 10 of the general statutes to implement recommendations from the Digital Citizenship, Internet Safety and Media Literacy Advisory Council established under section 10-7v.

Require local and regional boards of education to create curricula identifying essential skills and knowledge students must acquire regarding digital citizenship, Internet safety, and media literacy.

Amend section 10-16b to require the social studies curriculum include teaching civics, digital citizenship, and media literacy beginning in grade three.

Increase understanding of how government operates by teaching civics beginning in grade three.

Educate students to distinguish legitimate news sources from inauthentic sources and understand proper and improper uses of social media platforms.
