Repeals and replaces Section 29-231 of Connecticut general statutes to modify exemptions from boiler regulations.

Exempts hot water heaters approved by nationally recognized testing agencies with adequate safety devices, including temperature and pressure relief valves, when they have a capacity of not more than 120 gallons and heat input of not more than 200,000 BTU per hour, if not installed in schools, day care centers, hospitals, nursing homes, churches, or public buildings.

Exempts smaller hot water heaters with a capacity of not more than 10 gallons and heat input of not more than 20,000 BTU per hour when installed in any occupancy type.

Maintains existing exemptions for boilers under federal control, portable boilers used in field operations and agriculture, heaters in private homes or apartment buildings with not more than five families, antique/model boilers in museums, and public service companies.

Takes effect upon passage and amends Connecticut General Statutes Section 29-231.
