Replaces "interfering with" language with "impeding the legislative process" and changes the classification to a class A misdemeanor, effective October 1, 2021.

Creates new crime of "obstructing the legislative process" as a class D felony, or class C felony when combined with weapons violations or certain other offenses.

Expands definitions to include bringing weapons (firearms, knives, explosives, dangerous devices) into legislative buildings, with exceptions for authorized law enforcement and military personnel.

Adds "member of the Office of State Capitol Police" to the protected classes in assault and interference statutes, providing enhanced penalties for assaulting them.

Modifies assault statute to classify assault of public safety and health care personnel as a class C felony, and adds affirmative defense for health care workers assaulted by individuals with disabilities.
