University of Connecticut must study the feasibility of establishing or expanding programs related to food and agricultural literacy, including interactions with farms in rural, suburban, and urban communities.

Study shall examine feasibility of developing certificate, degree, extension, or independent study programs in agricultural/aquaculture sustainability, ecosystem health, urban farming, gardening, and food product development and marketing.

Study shall examine feasibility of developing community outreach programs for grades K-12 through agriculture and aquaculture science programs or partnerships with Future Farmers of America, 4-H organizations, or independent farms.

Study shall examine feasibility of developing community outreach programs to help state residents access fresh food products, explore healthy eating, and interact with local farms.

University of Connecticut must submit feasibility study findings to the joint standing committee on higher education by January 1, 2022.
