Establishes a task force to study cancer relief benefits for firefighters, including examination of the existing firefighters cancer relief program under section 7-313j of the general statutes.

Task force shall examine the feasibility and implications of providing workers' compensation and other benefits, including death benefits, to firefighters diagnosed with cancer from occupational exposure to noxious fumes or poisonous gases.

Task force membership includes labor committee chairs and ranking members, experts in workers' compensation and cancer research, representatives from firefighters' labor organizations, and representatives from municipalities with paid and volunteer fire departments.

Initial appointments must be made within 30 days of the bill's effective date, with the first meeting scheduled within 60 days; labor committee administrative staff will support the task force.

Task force must submit findings and recommendations to the labor committee by January 1, 2022, and terminates on that date or upon submission of the report, whichever is later.
