Two or more municipalities within a regional tourism district may jointly appoint one representative to the district's board of directors, effective October 1, 2021.

A jointly appointed representative is counted as present for quorum purposes for each municipality they represent and may vote on behalf of each such municipality at board meetings.

Each regional tourism district board continues to consist of one representative from each municipality (appointed by the municipal legislative body), plus up to twenty-one additional members representing tourism interests within the district.

Municipal representatives serve three-year terms, and board members are not considered state employees.

All board of directors appointments must be reported to the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development.
